About LAE

Partner Schools

Education is more than passing exams and our close relationship with top independent schools enables LAE sixth formers to benefit from experiences they would never have expected.

Each LAE House is linked to one of the partner schools. These houses visit their associated schools to get to know their sixth form ‘buddies’ there. LAE sixth formers then host their buddies when they come to Stratford. This has proved to be a great learning experience with pupils at both establishments discovering what they have in common and how they can learn from each other. This also introduces LAE pupils to a group of new contacts outside their immediate environment, which can be useful in their future careers.

Our partner schools also provide excellent support and outstanding teaching at LAE; two English Literature teachers at LAE are seconded from Eton College; Caterham School work closely with the MFL department; LAE sports teams enjoy competitive fixtures against partner schools. These are just a few examples of how our unique partnership benefits our sixth formers.

Alongside our partner schools, we have close connections with a number of other providers. James Allen’s Girls' School, for example, have historically provided support for Oxford and Cambridge applicants, while Francis Holland School work closely with the Psychology department to share best practice. Most recently, LAE has been working with Putney High School to support the delivery of our increasingly-popular Philosophy, Religion and Ethics A level course.

We also have a strong relationship with the Sutton Trust, the Fulbright Commission and a number of universities including Oxford, Cambridge and King's College London. These relationships enable our sixth formers to take part in summer schools, including opportunities abroad such as at Harvard University, Massachusetts. We are also able to provide sixth formers many prestigious work experience opportunities through our governors, partner schools and their alumni.
