Chemist in Residence
Required for September 2017
Full or part time
Fixed-term contract for one year (with option to extend to 2-3 years)
London Academy of Excellence (LAE) is seeking to recruit a highly inspirational and academically skilled chemist with exceptional subject knowledge to teach and support the most able students in this ambitious, academically selective sixth form.
In 2016 LAE secured outstanding A level results. 86% of A level grades were A*, A or B and half of all grades were A* or A. The school is heavily oversubscribed with more than 2500 applications each year. This year, a record-breaking 20 sixth formers have secured offers from Oxford and Cambridge universities.
LAE is located in the heart of Stratford, close to the Olympic Park and just two minutes from Stratford station (now zone 2/3), with excellent links to all parts of London.
We seek a teacher with exceptional postgraduate qualifications who is passionate and committed to high academic standards in their subject. A teaching qualification is not necessarily required for this post, but a passion and aptitude for teaching and imparting knowledge is essential. The successful applicant will enjoy a reduced teaching load to give more time for subject development and the sharing of best practice.
This post would suit a passionate chemist on either a part- or full-time basis.
