About LAE

ALUMNI (2014-2016)

MEDICINE: Doctor NHS

LAE gave me a lot of opportunities that I think I wouldn't have been able to find in any ordinary sort of college or sixth form.

I really enjoyed my time at LAE. The teachers were supportive, and I was surrounded by many students with similar aspirations. If I ever had questions or needed extra help with a topic, I was always able to find help from both my teachers and my peers. LAE also provided unique opportunities to get ahead in terms of applications to university. I was able to build connections, attend workshops and gain valuable advice from people that I would not have come across on my own. LAE introduced us to SAMDA, who supported me in my UCAS applications to medicine and also provided mock interviews which was extremely helpful!

I had to work hard and be resilient to get to the stage I’m at now. Things didn’t always go as planned but I was ready to learn from any experiences and continue to work towards my goals despite any challenges I faced.

My advice to students is that choosing a career path can be difficult but it’s really important to choose one that you will enjoy. If you’re still unsure, continue to study the subjects you enjoy most until you figure things out. There will always be help around so if you need it, don’t be afraid to ask. LAE provides many opportunities so make use of those!
