The London Academy of Excellence (LAE) is a sixth form school with a clear and unwavering mission: to ensure that talented young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, have access to the opportunities their ability and ambition deserve. We provide the academic challenge, support and experiences they need to fulfil their potential and progress to leading universities and ambitious professional pathways. 

LAE is one of the country’s highest performing sixth forms. But the school is about much more than grades. Our student study hard but also through themselves into a rich and rewarding co-curricular programme including sports, clubs, student leadership opportunities, trips and visits both local and international. We deliver exceptional pastoral care, with a real focus on wellbeing. We want our students to be ambitious and academically resilient, but we also want them to be happy, kind and confident young adults.  

I am immensely proud that when you walk through LAE and you can feel the academic buzz. There is intellectual curiosity everywhere – students and staff sharing ideas, challenging one another and demonstrating a genuine love of learning. Our values of excellence, humility, independence, kindness, resilience, and respect underpin everything we do, while our student leadership groups ensure that student voice genuinely shapes our inclusive school community.  

The LAE has direct, established relationships with four leading independent schools, with the universities of Oxford and Cambridge and our corporate partners, such as Latham and Watkins. These relationships help us to ensure that our students receive an education that is as rich and rewarding as any in the world.
