LAE is proud to offer an education within the state sector, which is reliant on philanthropy, to provide a first-class sixth-form education for young people living in one of the most disadvantaged parts of the UK. We need your help.
Eliminating educational disadvantage and ensuring that all talented young people, irrespective of background, can access the very best higher education institutions is hugely important to this country, from both a social and an economic point of view.
The education and opportunities that we are able to provide to our students are life-changing. Our results are evidence that, with the right resources and support, we can ensure that background need not be a barrier to educational success.
This ‘premium’ education comes at a cost and the funding we receive from the government falls short of the resources needed.
Here are a few reasons why:
- All students enrol on a learning programme of four linear A levels, rather than a three-subject timetable typical in other state schools.
- Extended school days allow students to participate in a rich and varied co-curricular programme alongside their academic lessons.
- A wide range of sports, societies and clubs are on offer, from Japanese lessons to Zumba.
- Each student completes an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) which enables them to develop research, referencing and critical analysis skills.
- Time is set aside for 1:1 mentoring and for sessions focused on wellbeing.
The support we receive from charitable trusts, corporate partners and individual donors is therefore invaluable.

Thank you for expressing an interest in making a donation to LAE.
However you wish to support us and at whatever level, your generosity is both essential and truly appreciated. Donations can be made either as a one-off gift or as a number of instalments as a Direct Debit.
Alternatively, if you would rather donate by cheque, BACS or Direct Debit, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for a donor form.
Friends of LAE
The education and experience provided at LAE has enabled hundreds of students to progress successfully to some of the UK’s most prestigious universities.
Despite receiving some statutory funding from the government, there is a funding gap of £3,000 (£1,500 per year) per student for their two-year course of study.
For a donation of £3,000 (or £2,400 + Gift Aid), you can sponsor a student and become a Friend of LAE. From as little as £100 a month over two years, you can transform a young person’s life.
As a Friend of LAE, you will be joining a special and supportive community and will be invited to a number of interesting lectures at the school. Each term, you will receive an update on your student’s progress from both inside and outside the classroom, as well as news about their results and university offers, so you can see the huge impact that you are making.
Corporates and Trusts
The generosity of several trusts and companies, HSBC in particular, has been transformative in changing the lives of hundreds of young people at London Academy of Excellence We are now seeking new partners to enable us to continue our important work.
