Apply to LAE
How to apply: a step-by-step guide
Do you want to join the Sunday Times Sixth Form College of the Year? If so, here is a step-by-step guide that will take you from application to enrolment.
1. Attend our open day
This is your opportunity to find out everything you need to know about LAE and our facilities, and speak with our students and staff.
2. Submit your online application
Applications are made online and must be supported by a reference from a teacher at your current school who will verify the information you have provided us with - this reference will be requested automatically upon completion of your online application and must be submitted by February 2022, along with any changes to submitted applications.
3. Attend a guidance meeting
Once applications have closed, we will invite selected applicants to attend a guidance meeting. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, it is important we are able to ensure LAE would be the best fit for those who have applied, as well as to offer advice on subject choices and future aspirations.
4. Accept your conditional offer
Having submitted an application and attended a guidance meeting, successful applicants will receive a conditional offer of a place at LAE. You must accept this offer in principle and confirm the details of your offer, including your A level subject choices, are correct.
5. Come to our welcome day
At the end of the summer term (after your GCSE exams) we will invite all offer-holders to attend one of our Welcome Days: an individually timetabled afternoon of A level taster classes and an excellent opportunity to meet students, who are studying the subjects you are interested in, and our expert teaching staff. You will also receive information about enrolment and induction and life at LAE.
6. Enrol at LAE
GCSE Results Day, August 2022
Collect your GCSE results and confirm your place in person at LAE Stratford.
If you did not receive a conditional offer you will be able to join a waiting list for spare places. Please note that we cannot guarantee that there will be spare places and the chances of there being any are very low.
Please note that we may have to alter these arrangements if COVID-19 restrictions require us to. Any changes will be communicated clearly to applicants directly.
