What We Offer

Co-Curricular Opportunities

In addition to academic stretch and challenge, LAE is proud of the emphasis that it places upon opportunities for personal development. We offer you as many different life experiences as possible to help you find out what is right for you and to give you a well-rounded education. We believe this is so important that it is built into our weekly timetable.

The LAE Arts Hub

We have a host of opportunities to develop existing passions or explore new ones in the world of the performing and creative arts: musical instrument lessons are on offer; join our rock and pop band as a musician or singer; become an actor or be part of a film crew; if your passion is writing, produce a script or write a magazine review for a new play.

Students can also take part in dance workshops, learn circus skills or head off to the theatre or a concert.  If creativity is a passion, we run regular Art projects involving all styles of art and photography giving students a platform to display work as part of a collection.  There is something for everyone within the LAE Arts Hub with a continuous variety of opportunities being offered throughout the year

Some of the many activities on offer include:

  • Musical Instrument Lessons for piano, violin and guitar
  • The LAE Rock and Pop Band
  • Speech and Drama workshops
  • Theatre and Concert trips
  • Art and Photography projects
  • Film Making (cast and crew)
  • Creative Writing and Poetry

Outdoors Activities

Our Duke of Edinburgh Award programme offers both Silver or Gold awards with students undertaking regular volunteering and physical activities whilst learning new skills.  This culminates in two different three-day camping and walking expedition trips in the Chiltern Hills and Brecon Beacons towards the end of your first year at LAE.

Or, if you prefer life on the water, LAE Sailing offers students amazing opportunities like the chance to apply to be part of a crew sailing through the Channel Islands for 7-10 days or even sailing from the UK to Denmark to deliver a boat to the Tall Ships Race!

If you love the outdoors, there will be plenty to choose from at LAE!
