Apply to LAE

How to apply for September 2026: a step-by-step guide

*Please note our Admissions timeline will be confirmed by the end of this half term.

Here is a step-by-step guide that will take you from application to September 2026 enrolment at LAE.

1. Attend our OPEN EVENING

Book here (link opens 22 October 2025, 18:00): [LINK]

Our open evenings for September 2026 entry will take place in January 2026, in person and online. Open Evenings are your opportunity to find out everything you need to know about LAE and our facilities and speak with our students and staff.

Online: 22 JANUARY 2026, 6PM

In-person: 29 JANUARY 2026, 4-7:30PM

2. Submit your online application

Submission deadline: FEBRUARY 23, 2026, 23:59

Applications are made online via Applicaa.

You must:

  • start your application form before February 16, 2026
  • submit your completed application by February 23, 2026

Ensure you have:

  • Predicted grades for your final Y11 GCSE Exams (not from Y10 mocks) and/or achieved grades for any exams you have already taken previously
  • A scan of your photo ID or birth certificate
  • The correct details for your referee (email address and full name)

Your predicted grades need to meet our minimum entry requirements in order for you to submit your application.

If you start your application and are still waiting on predicted grades, you can simply save your progress on the application and exit. However, you will need to ensure you submit it by the deadline. Teachers can then update them once they receive the reference request and any new predicted grades (only as long as the grades are available before the March deadline; see below).

If you think you won't have the best predicted grades until after the reference deadline on March 6 2026, you must speak to your referee (usually your head of Year or teacher) directly about agreeing on a set of predicted grades that they would be happy to submit for you.

3. AWAIT REFERENCE FROM YOUR SCHOOL

References / predicted grades deadline: 6 March 2026, 23:59

*NOTE: It is your duty to ensure an accurate reference is submitted for you by the reference deadline. While we make every effort we can to remind referees of the deadline, it is ultimately the student and parent/carer's responsibility to follow up with their teachers to ensure their application is completed fully.*

All applications must be supported by a reference from a teacher at your current school who will verify the information you have provided us with - this reference will be requested automatically upon completion of your online application and must be submitted by 6 March 2026, along with any changes to submitted applications. Unfortunately, we cannot consider any changes to predicted grades after the reference deadline in March in order to follow our Admissions Policy fairly.

4. Accept your provisional offer

APRIL 2026

Having submitted an application, successful applicants will receive a provisional offer of a place at LAE. You must accept this offer in principle and confirm the details of your offer, including your A level subject choices, are correct.

5. Come to a taster day

JUNE 2026

We invite provisional offer-holders to attend one of our Taster Days: an individually timetabled afternoon of A-level taster classes and an excellent opportunity to meet students, who are studying the subjects you are interested in, and our expert teaching staff. You will also receive information about enrolment and induction and life at LAE.

  • Day 1: 23 June 2026, 13:30
  • Day 2: 25 June 2026, 13:30

This is an invitation-only event. Not being invited to a Taster Day does not impact your provisional offer.

6. Enrol at LAE

GCSE Results Day, 20 August 2026

Onsite Enrolment Days, 20 and 21 August 2026

Collect your GCSE results and if you have met, or exceeded, the conditions of your provisional offer submit your results online to LAE along with your transcripts and a scan/image of your official ID.  Successful provisional offer holders will then be invited to enrol and must attend in person on enrolment day to complete their enrolment at LAE Stratford.  Please note that no place at LAE Stratford is guaranteed until you have completed your enrolment.

If you did not receive a provisional offer you will be able to join a waiting list for spare places. Please note that we cannot guarantee that there will be spare places and the chances of there being any are very low.
