Consultation on academy roll
Public consultation on the proposal to increase the planned capacity of London Academy of Excellence (LAE), Stratford from September 2020
London Academy of Excellence (LAE) Stratford is running a public consultation on its application to increase its total planned capacity from 650 student places to 750 student places with effect from September 2020. The proposed increase is linked to a planned expansion/development of the school site.
About the school
LAE is a 16-19 academy which opened in September 2012 and is located in Stratford in the London Borough of Newham. The academy offers an academic A-Level curriculum designed to maximise student’s chances of university entry. The academy is heavily oversubscribed and the purpose of this proposed increase is to give more students the opportunity to study at LAE.
LAE makes conditional offers of places to students for entry into Year 12 each year on the basis of their predicted GCSE grades. The academy’s admissions policy reserves a minimum of 50% of these offers for students studying in Newham secondary schools and prioritises applications from students verified to be in receipt of free of school meals, provided they meet the minimum entry requirement. There are no plans to alter the academy’s admissions arrangements as part of the proposed increase to its planned capacity.
Further information about the academy and its admissions arrangements can be found on the school website.
