The London Academy of Excellence (LAE) is seeking to recruit a Lead Science Technician to support our high achieving Science Departments in delivering practical science lessons in our brand new fit-for-purpose Academy. LAE will be making the move to new premises in Summer 2026 where we require a Lead Science Technician to oversee 2 brand new science prep rooms and support to 13 laboratory classrooms. The successful ideal candidate will be an experienced Science Technician looking for their next steps in building and managing a team or established in a current role looking for a new challenge.

 

Responsibilities include ensuring science technicians are fully engaged in their duties, that laboratories are well-organised and fully equipped, preparing materials, equipment and chemicals for practical lessons, maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to. 

 

New LAE premises Hawthorne House will be open for the cohort joining in September 2026. With student numbers set to almost double over the coming years and brand new state of the art equipment. Until then we focus on the preparation and the move for which this role will oversee.
