London Academy of Excellence (LAE) is seeking to recruit a skilled chemist to join this ambitious, selective sixth form. LAE is an Outstanding, heavily oversubscribed school located in the heart of Stratford, close to the Olympic Park and just two minutes from Stratford Station (zone 2/3), with excellent links to all parts of London.

LAE is the top-ranked sixth form provider in England to offer a full A level curriculum, according to the Sunday Times Parent Power Survey 2022. The role

We seek a Teacher of Chemistry who shares in our commitment to the highest of academic standards and to the advancement of our students’ social mobility. The successful candidate will have deep subject knowledge and the ability to explain complex concepts with enthusiasm and patience. They will also be happy to contribute in some way to the school’s extensive co-curricular programme. The person appointed will join a friendly and highly successful chemistry department, teaching the OCR A specification. A UK teaching qualification is preferred but not essential. The school would, particularly welcome candidates that reflect the diversity of its student community.
