Celebrating A-Level Success

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our 2023 graduating cohort of LAE students, see Latest Results which includes a record number of students moving on to study medical degrees.

As can be seen widely across the national press, top grades have fallen substantially in a concerted effort to rebalance grade boundaries to pre-Covid levels.  Despite this, the most common grade across all subjects at LAE remained an A or A* with LAE students achieving more than two and a half times higher than the national average of top grades.

The amazing success of our 2023 cohort places LAE in the top ten of the highest performing schools in The Times A-level League Table, and in the top five of the highest performing State schools across the nation. LAE is the only school in this class specifically to prioritise applications from students who are Disadvantaged.

Equally importantly, throughout their education our impressive young students have learned the value of independence, resilience, respect, kindness, and humility.  We are extremely proud of our ambitious, young people from all backgrounds who work hard to change their lives for the better.

It remains our privilege to be able to work with this amazing community of young scholars.

Headteacher Alex Crossman comments:

" As our students move on to the next stage of their education at many of the finest universities and training programmes in the UK and elsewhere, we are certain that the pursuit of excellence they have worked hard to develop will continue to support them.  I hope to hear from them in the future, and I am certain that they will make their mark on the world with confidence and integrity."
